Movie Extra Becomes More Popular Than Tom Cruise Thanks to Reddit

Not many people will have heard of Alexander Rhodes, but according to the biggest movie information database, IMDB, he is a bigger star than Tom Cruise. This came about when Rhodes interacted on the site Reddit, and mentioned that he was a movie extra work as well as leaving a link to his IMDB account. Soon Redditors flocked to his account, increasing traffic dramatically which resulted in Rhodes leapfrogging Cruise in the cast listing of the film Jack Reacher, where Cruise plays the title character, and Rhodes plays “Suspicious Onlooker”. Other social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube have all picked up on the Rhodes bandwagon, with a top comment on the official Jack Reacher trailer stating, “I’m looking forward to another powerful and provocative performance by Alexander Rhodes. His acting will surely shake the foundation of the movie industry this year.”
