Jimmy Kimmel Encourages People to Delete ‘Fake’ Facebook Friends

Last week, US late-night chat show host Jimmy Kimmel relaunched the second year of his ‘National Unfriend Day’ (Or ‘NUD’, for short), where he encouraged people to delete all those ‘friends’ that one might be connected to through Facebook, but would never talk to in real-life. Simply stated, it’s all about cutting out anyone who isn’t a real friend. Kimmel even came up with a points system, where he has a list of possible infractions that people could occur in order to justify an ‘unfriending’. If a ‘friend’ reaches 50 points on this system, they shall be removed as a friend. Infractions include posting pictures of pets (-5 points) or of a sunset (also -5 points) among many other, harsher actions.
